TO ALL THE TEAM AT TEAHUPOO

Well what can I say, having decided to embark on the camper van adventure, we looked far and wide for conversion company, but found that they were either too far away or had vans that were already built and not to our taste or spec. So after some more digging and a referral from a family friend we came across Teahupoo VW campers. With not having a van ready to covert, Teahupoo sourced our van, which was exactly the spec and colour we was after. once the van had arrive at Teahupoo HQ, Lisa wasted no time in contacting us so we could have a sit down and chat about all the things we would like in our conversion to make it our own. We are absolutely thrilled to bits with the end result, its exactly what we envisioned our camper van to be. We found Teahupoo very professional, delivered a excellent standard of work and went above and beyond to produce exactly what we wanted.

Thanks, Bryn

We looked at lots of van conversion companies but Teahupoo stood out because of the good reviews and also the choice of interiors and extras they offered – as well as value for money of course (well we are from Yorkshire). We visited Lisa and Russell and were so impressed at their friendliness, knowledge and enthusiasm as well as the fact that we could chose exactly what our van would look like that we signed up and paid our deposit. The waiting list timed well with our plans to take the van to France the following summer. Russell found us a great van for our budget and soon we were travelling over to choose our colour scheme and extras and on the wettest day of the summer we went over to pick up the van We were and still are thrilled with our van – it’s everything we hoped for and more. We always get comments wherever we camp about how good it looks and it’s our own unique home from home.

Take care, Helen

After having made the decision to take the plunge and buy a camper, we spent several months visiting dealers and conversion companies and left each with mixed feelings.

A couple of hours spent with Russ & Lisa and we knew we had found the right people and were happy to put down our deposit that evening.

Russ carefully steered us in how we thought we wanted the van equipped, to how it should be done, Always trust someone who actually uses his product and has learnt what does and doesn’t work.

We were worried that lockdown was going to delay progress, but the original completion date was met and we were thrilled with the final product.

Being able to have the bespoke interior colours and fittings makes the van truly ours, rather than a mass produced van and for that we thank Russ & Lisa. We only managed a couple of trips in 2020 due to lockdown, but lots of plans already for 2021.

Any down side to owning a Teahupo’o? Just the number of people who want to have a look! A gentleman with an F Type Jag wanting to look inside whilst refuelling on a very wet and windy Saturday night on the Mull of Kintyre springs to mind!

Keith and I had decided to get a campervan , we researched and found Teahupoo in our locality which was great. We paid a visit and were impressed with the quality finish of their demo vehicle, and Russell and Lisa’s expert knowledge of sourcing a van and how we could bespoke our own. After a few weeks Russell has sourced our perfect Highline blue van and with confidence we paid VW Lookers, without even seeing it !

About nine long months of watching us move up the Teahupoo waiting list and obsessively looking at everyone else’s finished vehicle it was finally our turn, we met Lisa, and with her expertise chose our interior. Collecting Vwilma went without a hitch, socially distanced of course! We have had an amazing time in Scotland touring the NC 500 and a few weekends away. We are itching to get away again this season when we are allowed . We have had many an admiring look at our fabulous van.

Thank you Russell and Lisa for your excellent communication and expertise, and great pricing .

Russell, Lisa and the lads in the workshop were brilliant from start to finish. From helping to source our VW T6 to the detail of the conversion itself, the knowledge and experience was clear to see. Even when the first lockdown threw a spanner-in-the-conversion-works, the team still managed to make progress even against the odds.  They are clearly all really bothered about what they create and do their upmost to give the client what they want at a more than reasonable price.

We have had so many positive comments and admiring looks since we collected our van and we can’t wait to make full use of it again…

To the Teahupoo team,

After 10 years of thinking, dreaming and saving I finally embarked on my (and my late fathers) dream of owning a camper van. I purchased a SWB T6 Sportsline and after three years decided to get a conversion. After doing the norm of looking around I decided that the best option was to take the advice of a colleague who is a previous customer of Teahupoo who was full of positive feedback and praise.

June 2020 I met with Russell and Lisa and away we went. The advise given was great and after looking at the current van in the workshop it was clear the workmanship was excellent.

My van was booked in and during the time in between Russell was proactive on what I needed to do with selection of specification etc. All prices were accurate and I was happy with them.

Van was taken in and the turn round was fantastic I think it was around 3 weeks! (the rock&roll bed had been previously spec’d to match my front seats and then built).

On pick up of the van in Oct 2020. The advise, workmanship, communication and professionalism is second to none.

If you are about to jump into the camper van community, don’t go anywhere else but Teahupoo, thank you Lisa and Russell and the Team for making it happen.

Thanks Roger

We decided to approach Teahuppo for our long-desired van, having received glowing reports. From our first meeting we knew we had made the right decision. Nothing is overlooked, everything is made clear and we received all the help and advice we needed. The after-care service has been excellent and all the team at Teahuppo deserve credit for this. We love our van – the best decision we ever made!

Absolutely delighted with our camper! Our minds were made up after a visit to Teahupo’o HQ. Russell and Lisa certainly know their stuff. Their guidance was most helpful and their honest appraisal of everything VW Camper refreshingly based on experience and not sales. Nothing was too much trouble, they were very patient (there’s lots to think about!) and were open to any alterations or requests we had. Russell sourced our vehicle (within a month) and exactly to our spec and price. Thereon, everything happened as promised (communication, timescales, meeting, pick-up). We are now the proud and envied owners of a Teahupo’o campervan. Thoroughly recommended.

Five Stars

After researching a number of campervan conversion companies, we settled on Teahupo’o as they were able to source the exact van we wanted at a good price and – even more importantly – were very willing to work with us to build the non-standard van we desired. As well as all of the usual campervan requirements, we wanted the van to be able to carry two bikes and all accessories for our cycling holidays. Despite not having built a van to this exact requirement before, the team worked with us and with a combination of their skill and further research built us our one-off cycle van wonder. They even coped with our very gaudy colour scheme (purple and lime green, anyone?) without too many raised eyebrows!

We had a small problem with a fitting some months after delivery but it was dealt with promptly and professionally and this gives us great confidence in their after-sales service.

For individual service and excellent campervans, we’re very happy to recommend Teahupo’o.

Almost a year to the day last August that we decided to make the leap of faith. We have originally planned on buying a secondhand van, but after a visit to see Russell and Lisa our minds were already made up. The advise given was superb and the workmanship on their own van was second to none.

We paid our deposit for the waiting list and dreamed of the trips we planned to make. We gave Russell the spec of van we wanted, sat back and waited. It becomes infectious continually checking their website looking at different styles and colour of interiors, not to mention our name slowly creeping up the list.

6 months had passed and we received an email from Russell informing us that he had found the van spec we wanted, although not the colour we originally wanted but a higher spec in terms of some invaluable extras such as built in sat nav, folding wing mirrors and reversing camera.

Van purchased and sent to Russell’s holding yard. Things started to get even more exciting as we were moving up the list, but then COVID!!!! Nevertheless it still didn’t dampen our thoughts of the many trips we continued to plan. We then received a call from Lisa to start to think about our interior needs in terms of colours and fittings. When we met Lisa she went through the different options of colours, materials and fittings with no pressure to decide (think Lisa must of thought we were never going to agree between us what we wanted) but 2 hours later Lisa had our list.

Next Russell gave us a text on Vanya’s birthday saying we are next to go into the workshop, you can imagine her surprise that our new member of the family was going into the delivery suite. The endless nights thinking of names and things we needed to buy for our adventures started to get real. The delivery day had come, counting down how many sleeps before collection day.

When we arrived and saw the finished product, it was stunning in real life. Take notes as Russell went through the workings of the interior fittings, I’m sure I would have forgotten half the things he said as we were like kids waiting to play with our Christmas present. The whole process, advise, workmanship, communication and professionalism is second to none.

If your thinking of getting into the camper van world, don’t go anywhere else but teahupoo, thank you Lisa and Russel for making this dream a reality for us.

From Rick and Vanya

It all started on a weekend camping trip to Dawlish in Devon. Having not really camped since we were kids, now that we had our own 2 boys (5 and 6), we thought it would be a great idea. So we bought a second hand tent and set off.

Day one was great, lovely weather, BBQ the lot, but thanks to the good old British weather day 2 was less fun sitting in a wet tent watching the horizontal rain!. So I headed off to the camp shop for something to do and ended up buying a copy of VW Bus. And there it was! A beautiful T6 Camper and Teauhupo’o feature article. This was their white demo van and having flicked through the pictures, checked out their Facebook page and website and having read about their workshop and passion for VW campers, that was it. We were hooked and the dream began.

We knew that we wanted a VW camper and that they were the ones we wanted to make it for us. As soon as we got back from our camping trip I contacted Russell. No hard sell, a really 100% genuine chap who was completely honest and realistic in terms of budget and what we could get to make our dream come true. So I paid a deposit and got ourselves onto the waiting list. A few months later Russell called me to say that he had found me a base van to consider. A 20,000 mile T6 Highline at a cracking price. I was sent a video from the dealer contact and wired over the money. Within 2 days the van was shipped up to Russell who fully checked it out to make sure it was to his exacting standards.

The next 7 months were spent checking out their website, thinking about the vast range of options for the interior, exterior, colours etc, planning trips and seeing ourselves rise up the waiting list and seeing the amazing vans coming out of their workshop in the meantime. We also went to visit Lisa who helped us navigate the wide range of options and extras. Lisa’s advice was extremely valuable. We went with a pre-conceived idea of a dark interior but having seen their demo van, how light and spacious it was, and chatting it though, we changed our minds. We ended up with a beautiful soft and luxury interior which looks amazing.

So we waited a few more weeks (and the waiting is well worth the wait) And then the time then came to collect our van. We had a glimpse of the van on their Facebook page and this just turned us into excited kids at Christmas. Off I went to collect the van and upon seeing it for the first time… well… the photos did not even do it justice. It just exceeded every expectation we had, and we had high expectations. It was great meeting Russell and Lisa again. Russell talked me through the do’s and dont’s and made sure I was 100% happy with the van and how it works. It was great meeting the workshop team, real craftsman whose passion for building quality campers shone through. We are so happy that we have a camper van that is hand built in every sense, from the units, roof, bed etc and that we have been able to be heavily involved in its design. I think every van they produce is one of a kind thanks to the ability to be involved in the build which not many conversions companies can offer to such an extent.

We love our camper van, the children love it and “Bonnie’’ the van has a lovely new home in Somerset. The Teauhupo’o team are completely trustworthy people who care about VW camper vans and making sure their customers are completely satisfied. We are so proud to be part of the Teauhupo’o family. Thank you for helping us realise our dream of making priceless memories with our children with many (dry!!!) camping trips to come.

Mark and Jo

We had been looking at VW campers for a few months locally and online. It wasn’t until we saw a second-hand van with a more unique interior from all the other conversion companies, that we discovered Teahupoo. We got in touch with Russell who ran through the costs and process and after giving it consideration, put our name on the list and paid a deposit.

What made us put our faith and money into a Teahupoo van was that there was a waiting list, and the interior and finishing options available. In essence, in our opinion we were getting a more bespoke finish to what other conversion companies could offer.

Four months later we heard from Russell again as he had sourced a van within our spec and budget. We paid for the van and all went silent for another few months, when Lisa got in touch and said it was time to start considering options for trims and finishing as our van would be converted at the end of the month.

We decided to travel down to the workshop so that we could see finished vans and choose colours and within a few hours decisions had been made. We would recommend doing this as the range of options is vast and Lisa was very helpful In helping us decide.

Four weeks later it was pickup day. We travelled down from Scotland on the train and picked up our van. The van looked stunning and met all our expectations and more. Russell ran through all the features in the van, though in our excitement we didnt pay full attention and would recommend taking notes.

Within a few days being home, we discovered a very small leak in the side window. Russell sourced a local automotive window company to repair the fault within a few days which saved us hassle. This is a great credit to Teahupoo and demonstrates their customer after-care.

Since getting the van we have been away most weekends with the 2 dogs and have had great fun.Trips include Mull, Arran, Royal Deeside, Jura, Islay and the East Neuk. The van has turned heads as well and many folk have commented positively.

We would thoroughly recommend Teahupoo to any potential customers. It is a hassle free service that they provide. The vans are bespoke and the workmanship is fantastic.

Mid Life Crisis

Jeff my partner was turning 50 the following year, he decided that he was saving up to buy a VW T6 & he was going to have it converted into a campervan. He spent hours on google choosing the best company to do the conversion.

He came across a local company called “Teahupoo” – they weren’t far from where we live. We sent them an email asking to meet them, we 1st met Russell and Lisa in February 2018, they talked us through the process of sourcing a van (which they helped with), shown us the demo van plus extras we could have, we put the deposit down for our van. The process was simple enough, Russell helps you choose the van & the lovely Lisa goes through the interior with a fine-tooth comb, you decide on the finish & then hey presto in 6-8 weeks your van is ready for picking up.

We ordered our van to coincide with Jeff’s 50th birthday in May 19 (see the photo’s) and we booked our maiden voyage to Anglesey with some friends. Picking the van up was a family affair – our daughter flew over from Germany surprise her dad and to come pick up the van.

Anglesey was beautiful, the sun was shining and the van was just perfect, the bed was comfortable. We have loads of plans to travel around Scotland & we are planning a trip to Germany in our van, we love it, thanks Teahupoo for making our dreams come true!

If your planning to do a conversion then we can’t recommend Teahupoo enough.
Thanks again

To a special Company.

Some things in life are worth waiting for. I was approaching retirement and had my mind set on a VW camper conversion. A colleague recommended Teahupoo conversions so one Sunday my wife and I drove over to Rawtenstall in Lancashire to have a look at the company set up. The moment we arrived we were welcomed by Russell and Lisa who showed us around the whole place and let us explore inside their demo van. Nothing was too much trouble and they explained everything very clearly. There was no hard sell approach and they simply explained that we could spend as little or as much as we wanted. Options Options Options, everything was covered and the cost of everything clearly explained. I had read all the previous reviews and felt confident that my money was in safe hands.

I liked the sound and price of the VW demo plan and decided to go all out and order a new T6. I paid a £1000 deposit to Teahupoo and was all of a sudden I was at the bottom of a 10 month waiting list. Six weeks later I paid VW direct for my van, a metallic indium grey 150 highline with DSG and LCD headlights.

Russell and Lisa kept me informed at every stage of a very long 10 months. A month before mine was due to go into the workshop we had another visit to Teahupoo and chose all our options and finishing touches.

We paid half the cost of the conversion a week before the work started and the balance just before completion. One Sunny day in November we went to collect our van. The handover was extremely smooth and every little detail explained to us.

I am now the owner of a very special VW Camper which turns heads everywhere we go. I can highly recommend Teahupoo, Russel and Lisa to anyone thinking of having a conversion done.

Best regards. Mike & Fiona.

Well where to start with Teahupo’o. I have nothing but praise and massive thanks for Lisa and Russell.

We spent time a lot of time looking on the internet, researching and pricing things up and we even went to view a few local conversion companies (as we live down south!) and then came across Teahupo’o. After reading numerous testimonials with no negative comments and also the fact that we love what they do with the vans, I put a call into Lisa last October.

Lisa was so helpful and friendly and that convinced me to put a deposit down there and then and join the waiting list. Russel found me a van within 3-4 weeks, but it was in Blackberry and not our first choice colour of Grey, and looking back now and seeing ‘Arnold’ in his full Blackberry glory this was the best decision we made, as he stands out from the crowd.

So bizarrely I paid £20k+ for a van Id never seen, this was pretty scary stuff, but I trusted these guys and they did not disappoint us. We met Lisa and Russell down in Swanage one weekend in May to choose our spec and they showed us around the demo van that they had with them and they went through everything, what we could have, what we couldn’t have etc. all very thorough and well explained, and their passion for the job is amazing considering they must have done this 100’s of times, but they made it fun and exciting, and personal to us.

As we were now 6 months into our wait and creeping up the waiting list, we now only had 3 months to wait, but Lisa was always on hand to answer any of my stupid questions regarding my private number plate or any other concerns I might have had at the time. So the collection day was arranged in late August and after a very small delay with the upholsterers whereby we had to move our collection date, we finally got Arnold in early September. Even though the upholsterers had delivered the wrong style upholstery to what we wanted, Lisa and Russell kept us informed and couldn’t do enough to get it corrected and turned round quickly so we could stick to the second arranged collection date. I said to Lisa, this really does show how good Teahupo’o are, as its all good when things go smoothly, but Teahupo’o came into their own when something went wrong and to their credited, sorted it out with minimal fuss and first class customer service.
We have had Arnold for 4 weeks now and have tested him out in the New Forest a couple of times already to try and extend the summer and we have a 4 night stay in Devon planned in half term as well. In summary, I cannot speak highly enough of Teahupo’o, Lisa, Russell and their team in the workshop. Im so grateful we found them and their attention to detail and the way they care about what they do is something that is very rare nowadays, they are a credit to the camper van world and I would like to personally say a massive thank you from me and my family.

I think like most people I spent sometime wandering around the internet looking for a company that was a) trusted by it customers, b) delivered quality c) would provide aftersales advice (this being the first camper we have owned) and d) knew their stuff!. I followed Teahupoo for about a year on Facebook (while getting the funds together), checking all their reviews and customer feedback before taking the plunge myself. Not a single bad comment or moan, and the images of the vans they were producing looked great. Anyway, the process was bizarrely simple, tell Russ and Lisa what type of van you want (204Bhp DSG) and they go and find it…which they did in about 3days I think! They happened to then be on holiday “down south” so I met up with them and agreed colours and spec. At this point I made one of my best decisions, thanks to Lisa, I opted for the Propex heater, this would make life a lot easier…

Then the wait, this didn’t bother me too much as delivery would be in late Spring the following year so about the right time for the weather to improve and get some use out of it. I picked up the van from Russ and made one slight mistake, not listening!, which meant I was an email stalker for a few days afterwards (so spend time with Russ when you pick it up, ask any questions you can think of!!). We’ve had a few good weekends away in the new forest and Cornwall and are planning a three-weeker in France for next summer. The kids love the van and if they are happy so am I.

In summary, a great company run by two very knowledgeable people who really care about what they deliver. Thanks!.

Rob Waggitt, Van Purchased June18.

Having first found Teahupoo on a web search we made a visit to Rawtenstall for a demo, then quickly decided to put down our deposit and join the queue. We had looked at other converters, but made the choice on a range of factors, including the really cool look of the Teahupoo conversions, the credibility and history of Russell and Lisa, and the competitive pricing.

Patience was difficult, but the process of sourcing the van, selecting the colours and trim, and collection day went according to plan. The spec visit with Lisa was particularly exciting, as we chose our funky seat colours, flash wheels and spoiler, and went to a local mill to choose curtain fabric.

It must have been particularly hard for Russell as an avid Man U fan to have to work on an Acapulco Blue van but even he must admit that the finished product looks absolutely fantastic.

Since picking up the van in January we have enjoyed holidays and short breaks in England, Scotland, Wales and France, and still smile whenever we drive it!

Thanks

Jonathan and Helen

Hi Russell and Lisa,

Just a quick mail to say thank you.

It was great to finally get the keys last Sunday after a ten month wait. I knew it was going to be good but not that good. It looked, and still does look, fantastic.

Thanks for guiding us through the process. It’s a daunting task at first but with your help we’ve ended up with exactly what we were after, if not something better.

Paul Mansley

STOP YOUR SEARCH NOW. After saving for several years and doing a lot of research for my dream campervan I finally chose teaupoo VW Conversions and I wasn’t disappointed. For a start they provide the complete service from sourcing your base vehicle brand new from VW to conversion. From point of contact to completion Russ and Lisa were the consummate professionals. The result absolutely took my breath away (Sean Carney – black beauty Nov 2016) I don’t say this lightly but my campervan was even better than I ever imagined. Russ and Lisa really did make my dreams come true.

If you truly want brilliant workmanship with attention to detail with great customer service then invest your hard earned money with Russ, Lisa and the team at teaupoo.

Sean in Southampton

After researching VW conversion companies for over 12 months, a work colleague put me onto Teahupoo as he had been impressed by their pictures on Pistonheads. We visited their website & read the testimonials and saw the impressive waiting list so we took the plunge. On contacting Russell we discussed our requirements and nothing was too much trouble the only downside was the 10 month wait we were to endure as we were so excited.
This turned into the longest 10 months of our lives but Russell & Lisa kept us briefed and were on the end of a telephone to answer any queries that we raised. We picked up “Stan” 5 months ago and the quality of conversion far exceeded our expectation. We would strongly recommend Teahupoo to anyone considering a VW conversion, we’ve not looked back, going away in Stan at every opportunity and are expecting many years of adventure ahead of us.

Andrea and Edward

It was just over a year ago that we decided we would quite like a T5 campervan. Having looked at many 2nd hand vans and other conversion companies, we came across the Teahupo’o website of Russell and Lisa. Living in the south it was a long journey to their base, however we were really drawn by their warmth and knowledge. It did not take long after meeting them both and being shown around their van to know that this was the Company for us! Their excellent standards, professionalism, attention to detail and customer service was clearly unrivalled! We came home and that same evening paid our deposit – we were now on the waiting list! Within a few weeks Russell had managed to locate our Blackberry van and a few months later we visited again to choose our specification, with time in between spent checking our progress on the waiting list on Facebook! (that part was addictive!). On completion day we travelled north not really knowing if our chosen colours had worked, but we need not have worried as Lisa’s knowledge and expertise had guided us in the right direction. And so ‘Hamish’ was born…..and what a beauty he is! Thanks so much Russell and Lisa!

After a year of looking at camper conversions, going to shows and trawling through websites i came across Teahupoo near Manchester.I went up to meet Russell and Lisa and was able to have a good look over their demo van. They source and produce an excellent product using quality materials with an a really professional finish. The whole process was trouble free with no hard sell, the conversion really does sell itself.I am very pleased that i chose Teahupoo to do my conversion and would readily recommend them if you are thinking of getting a VW conversion. Thanks again to Russell, Lisa and the rest of their team.

Highly recommended! Excellent service and product. Lisa & Russ are great to work with guiding you through the spec selection process with ease and no pressure. We chose a few off spec items (some late on in the build process) and no matter what the request Lisa was unfazed, great customer service! Thank you so much for our van it’s everything we expected and we look forward to many touring trips!

Mr Parker

Can dreams come true? Well with the help of Russell and Lisa it’s possible. As a child my wife had a neighbour who owned a split screen campervan and she and her friend would play in it at weekends. I had been holidaying in Cornwall as a teenager for many years with the dreams of becoming a surfer with my own campervan. Some fifty years later that dream has come true, although the surfing side of it may be a stretch too far. Moving on over the years from tents to a trailer tent we decided to upgrade to something more substantial. Having visited various motorhome shows over a two year period we decided on a campervan rather than a motorhome. We decided to hire a VW campervan and spent three lovely days in the Lake District, we were hooked. The VW was something that we could use as a second vehicle, easy to drive and park at the side of the house. But where to find that dream vehicle? After visiting various VW campervan suppliers and none matching our requirements we started to search the internet and hit on Teahupoo VW Campers Ltd. a team of very professional campervan convertors headed up by Russell and Lisa. We had a couple of very pleasant visits were they shown us their own van before we made the final decision to go ahead. A brand new Base van was ordered on one of the Teahupoo Schemes, Saving us a considerable amount over any Retail price. We visited again were interiors and exteriors were picked, soon we had a call to say when pick up day would be. On arrival it was a warm sunny day in March, the VW campervan stood there, it was immaculate and a tribute to their workmanship and we had a unique bespoke campervan. A week later we were back up to the Lake District, except this time it was no hire van, but our very own VW Campervan. So dreams can come true, who knows maybe the surfing is back on the cards.

Malcolm and Denise

We had dreamed about and wanted a campervan for years , we started to look around and immediately Teahupoo caught our attention, the photos of the vans and the positive comments made us look further into this company. Graham spoke to Russ on the phone and was very impressed with his obvious knowledge and love for campervans and his job.

We made the decision to drive down to visit Russ and Lisa and we were hooked , these guys know their stuff !!!! We were shown their campervan and some of the extras we could have on our van, we were like kids in a sweet shop the quality of the work is second to none !! Needless to say we ordered one and were put on the waiting list, believe us when we say the waiting time is worth it!!!!

Lisa and Russ made the whole process easy, no pressure and the end product we couldn’t be happier with.

The day we picked “Velma” up was amazing , we are proud VW Campervan owners and we have already had lots of weekends away and a fantastic 2 weeks holiday in Cornwall , our 15year old daughter loves it and her friend is joining us on tour next year !

We have had so many positive and great comments from other campervan owners and many who now wished they had known about Teahupoo.

We can’t recommend Russ and Lisa ( Teahupoo ) highly enough, if you want a bespoke and quality vw campervan northwest speak to these guys. Don’t wait just do it 🙂

Thanks very much Lisa and Russ

Hi Russ,

After hours of researching campervans for designs, makes, models & budgets
we finally came across Teahupoo!

We contacted Russell at Teahupoo with a list of questions and the time he
spent helping us was amazing and it only confirmed that Teahupoo were the
company for us to make or dream come true.

It was hard at times as we live in Jersey so we didn’t get the opportunity
to fly over and meet Russell and Lisa, but that made no difference what so
ever as they both guided us though the whole process from start to finish
without any problems what so ever.

We have had Libby (my two boys named her) for a month now and I still get
people coming up to me to have a look inside and say how amazing she looks.
Both Russ & Lisa are truly amazing at what they do and I couldn’t
recommend/thank them enough for all their help, advice, guidance and most
of all patience (thanks Lisa).

James, Jo, Charlie, Freddie and Libby!

We are so pleased with our new Teahupo’o van! It is everything we hoped for.
Russ and Lisa made everything easy – finding the perfect base van and providing advice and guidance all the way through the conversion process. They are not just salespeople – they really care. The finished van is a delight – everything works so well.

We would not hesitate to recommend Teahupo’o!

Simon & Rebecca

We love the outdoors but tents were becoming a faff and no one wants to
drive home after a day in the hills so our thoughts turned to the
possibility of a campervan…….?

I knew little about what was on offer and had a limited budget so what I
needed was a friendly, helpful company that would allow me to ask daft
questions and let me have a good look at their product. A quick phone call
to Teahupoo and we arranged a visit to sunny Rawtenstall. Lisa and Russ
instantly put us at ease, we crawled all over their own van and even got the
bed out at one stage to check we would be comfortable enough!

We discussed our budget and left realising that the dream was possible.
A couple of days later Russ phoned me saying he could source a suitable van
– did we want to proceed? Well I said yes and have never looked back.
From getting a realistic delivery date to advice on different specifications
the Teahupoo team have been patient and helpful. The design of our van is
smart, practical and comfortable. We have toured Normandy and made regular
trips to the Lakes and Wales, occasionally we stay in campsites but with a
little prior planning and help from Google Maps it’s amazing what great
rough camping sites you can find!

We love our van, the only problem is finding enough time to get out in it.
If you want a campervan, try Teahupoo first.

Darren

We had always dreamed of having a Campervan and now our 2 girls were old
enough we decided to start looking for a camper and then after being
recommended Teahupoo by friends we headed up to Rossendale to go and take a
look, we weren’t disappointed. Russell and Lisa had 2 vans to show us and
talked us through everything and all the extra’s we could have. Russell
advised us on what we could get on our budget so we made the decision to go
for it. Then it was the hard bit, choosing the interior and the extra’s that
we wanted! We finally agreed and placed our order. We then had to wait and
watch my name going up the order list on FB until it was finally our turn.

The day we collected our van we were all very excited, Russell and Lisa opened
the gates and their she was, she looked amazing, the girls screamed with
excitement and we raced over to take a look. Russell spent the next half hour
talking us through everything and showing us how it all worked, we loved
everything.

Only a week after collecting ‘Betzy’ we headed on our first weekend away to
the Lake District, we had a brilliant time and the van lived up to all the
expectations.

Russell and Lisa have done a fantastic job and nothing was to much trouble, we
would highly recommend them.

Thank you so much for making our dream come true.

Kelly, Jim, Olivia & Isabelle xx

We would like to thank you both for giving us such a fantastic van which we
know we will enjoy for years to come.

The idea of owning our own campervan came almost two years ago but we had no
idea how to make this happen or where to start. After a short internet
search we came across the Teahupoo VW conversions website and, being
relatively close and armed with a long list of questions, we made an
appointment to visit them and to see their demo van.

It was obvious as soon as we met them that Russell and Lisa love what they do,
they were really friendly and extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of VW
campervan conversions and they were more than happy to answer all of our
questions. Russell knows he produces excellent conversions but there was
never any form of pressure to encourage us to buy from Teahupoo; it wasn’t
necessary as the quality of the finished product speaks for itself. He was
even insistent that we look at other conversion companies to compare the
different quality and prices.

Finally, we took the plunge in April 2015 and Russell took our van
specification and ordered the van on our behalf, we had joined the waiting
list! Six months later our van was delivered to the workshop, ready for our
conversion to begin. Then came the exciting step of deciding on the colour
scheme for our interior. There were so many different options for colours and
it was difficult trying to imagine how these would look in our van but Lisa
was always happy to offer advice on the colour schemes and nothing was too
much trouble. Throughout the whole process, they were both always only at the
other end of the phone or an email.

Nine months after placing our order with Russell, our pick-up day came. The
gates opened and we saw our van for the first time. We were lost for words.
It was fantastic! We have showed it off to all of our friends and family and
every single one of them has commented on the quality of the work done and
just how good it looks. They all want one too!

We are glad we looked at other campervan conversion companies because now we
know that we absolutely made the right decision going through Teahupoo
conversions. The waiting list says it all really! Quality comes to all those
who wait.

Thanks

Gary and Janine.

2014 was the year of anticipation for the Tilbury family. 2015 was the year of exploration with the arrival of our T5 ‘Shirley’. In 2014 I first made contact with Russell at Teahupoo. This followed quite a bit of research on VW conversion companies and different packages and specification. I contacted Russell by e-mail and within the hour he had replied. He hadn’t only replied to my questions but also provided some great advice on where our budget might take us in terms of a conversion. We then spoke and continued with the e-mail correspondence.

As it happened we had booked a holiday in the Lake District later in the year so we decided to kill two birds as it were and pop into Teahupoo on the way home. This was mainly to meet Russell and Lisa and see a conversion or two. By the time we left we had bought a van!! How did that happen?!

This first meeting with Russell and Lisa was brilliant. They happened to have two vans for us to look at and allowed us to view them inside and out. They spent the time to explain their conversion; of which they are rightly proud of and explained the conversion packages, options and how the process works. Plus answer the many many questions we threw at them having not owned anything like this before. From that moment on the process was brilliant. Most correspondence was done via e-mails and the occasional phone call to define the specification and keep us updated with progress. Now for the wait. Remember you can’t rush perfection.

Then before we knew it our collection day was upon us. And what a day it was. Our jaws dropped when Russell opened the gates and our van was in front of us. After a tour around the van and demonstration of the systems we were on the road heading south to Oxfordshire. I have never smiled for so long! I still smile every time I drive ‘Shirley’ whether it be on holiday to France or down the shops for a loaf of bread. ‘Shirley’ has been an awesome additional to our family.

She’s a full conversion and works so well for long trips away, touring, a single nights camp with my sons or as a day van at events. She’s taken over! When friends see us out and about they don’t say ” look it’s the Tilbury’s“ they say ”look there’s Shirley!” She’s certainly a head turner. The Tilbury’s are very happy with the van and she has opened up a whole new world of adventures for us. With many more to come.

Cheers Russell and Lisa

We made contact with Russell at Teahupoo to ask if he was able to help find a VW Kombi. Within a few days of contacting him we received an email advising us of a possible van…..

Well it was so much better than we could ever have hoped. Russell found us a VW Kombi T32, LWB, 140 BHP, with the 6 seats we wanted. The price was brilliant, at least £1500 cheaper than what we could find when comparing other vans. We paid for the van without viewing it and of course I was somewhat worried parting with my money…

We shouldn’t have been, we kept in regular contact with Russell and Lisa (thank you both for your patience) and true to their word our van arrived the Friday morning 8am….

And it is immaculate… the best thing we have ever done and I am so glad I put my trust in Russell and Lisa as they certainly delivered more than I could have hoped… I cannot rate them high enough…thank you!!

Debbie

After now having my van almost two weeks I don’t think the smile has gone from face!

After many years of toying with the idea of buying a VW I am so pleased that I made that first call to Russell. It all started from that call and now, only two months later I have my own machine. I would like to say a big thank you to all at Teahupoo, especially Lisa and Russell. The advice, service and friendliness is second to none. As soon as I met you both I knew I had made the right decision. My little girl Hannah still thinks it’s amazing and we are all looking forward to hitting the road on our first camping trip.

A big thanks again,

Kieran, Nicola, Hannah and Alex.

After trawling the Internet for months, I contacted Teahupoo about investing our hard earned cash on one of their beautiful looking conversions. Russ chatted me through the options, and we decided to buy a brand new van built to our spec, with a full conversion. The price seemed too cheap (even for a tight Yorkshireman!) Russ explained it would be a VW demo van for a few months, sat on their forecourt, but built exactly how we wanted it. Bingo! Then the friendly Lancastrian asked for a cash deposit. We’d never met, I was nervous, it was our hard earned cash…. In for a penny, I transferred the cash. I know now we needn’t have worried, but at the time I had a sleepless night! Then the fun starts. Pick options- colour, engine size, BHP, extras- “pimp my ride!” Then a big money transfer.

Russ & Lisa are proper northern folk- their word is their honour, they’re as trustworthy as they sound & great fun to boot. Relax, trust them. We did! Then the joy of picking interior options. Too many options! Lisa is queen of interiors. She’ll help you pick if you’re undecided, or get giddy with you if you’re going all out funky & bright. We went bright, Lisa got giddy! “What about….” Came the texts. Oh god yeah, add one of those. Cue husband laughing that Lisa & I were working our way through the extras list, and checking if we’d missed any options! We went to look at another customers finished van at Teahupoo.

Wow. Big smiles, sighs of relief, excitement levels through the (pop top) roof! Final wait, buying kit for inside the van- as soon as we get it we’re off! Texts to Lisa- recommendations for an awning? Do we need a mattress topper? What’s the best dog cage? Any question, Lisa’s heard it before, she’s got answers- or will ask Russ when she sees him at the end of a long day sorting conversions! And then, the text to end all texts- the van is ready.

A sneaky peak appears on the Teahupoo facebook page. I could burst with excitement. Final money transfer, totally trust these guys now. Trip over the Pennines to collect the van. Russ spends an hour proudly showing off his creation, how it all works. Re-Polishing it if you leave a finger mark…..! Beep as you leave” ask Russ & Lisa. The whole street are proud of what they’ve created!

On the way back we pull into a service station like 2 excited kids, examining every inch of our beautiful van. It’s already getting attention from passers by! From that first weekend to now, 3 months later, we’ve been out in it every weekend. Even on the busiest campsite, it sticks out- in a good way. We always get compliments & enquiries, and don’t hesitate to recommend Teahupoo. The van of dreams, if you dream of vans. Cheers Russ & Lisa.

Sarah Moss

We were thinking about buying a camper and visited Russell & Lisa just to get some ideas. We took one look at the van that Russell was getting ready for another customer and placed an order. What convinced us to buy was Russell and Lisa’s enthusiasm and confidence in their product. No hard sell, just lots of advice.

We’ve had the van almost a year and have been up and down the country and to France, Spain and Belgium. The next big trip is to the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Italy. The conversion is top quality and attracts a lot of interest wherever we go. Probably the best thing we ever bought!

Dom & Julie Berry

We’ve had our Teahupoo camper for 3 months now and have loved every minute of it. In our opinion Teahupoo build the best quality campers on the market.

Getting on the waiting list was something special for us. It is a long list but quality can’t be rushed, it takes time. Part of the fun for us was watching (usually daily) as we moved slowly up to the top. Once you get there the real fun begins as you begin to personalise your camper with Russell and Lisa. Our advice to anyone thinking about buying a VW camper is to get on the Teahupoo list as soon as you can. Then sit back, be patient and enjoy the wait. It will be worth it.

Thanks to all the Teahupoo team for making the dream come true for us, especially Russell and Lisa for their guidance and support, it’s much appreciated.

Chris and Julie Formby

We’ve had a few older VW campers, and following the arrival of our twin girls didn’t feel that they were reliable enough to safely venture out on camping adventures, so parted company – all set for joining the masses for a week in Centre Parcs as a substitute! Those who have had the older models, will have no doubt spent many an hour tinkering under the bonnet both at home, or at the side of a road so know where we are coming from!

The VW ‘bug’ really does catch you though, and saying goodbye to our camper was with a heavy heart…but life goes on, eh?! I think we lasted about 3 months before the conversation came around to the subject of ‘what about buying a new camper instead’ – approximately 30 seconds later, we started the internet search for a decent T5 conversion, to fill the void left from being sans campervan! There were plenty of T5s out there, and even some nice looking conversions – both bespoke and factory models, but none of them really gave us what we wanted, and at the right price-point. A few clicks through the right forums, led us to Teahupoo, and we were instantly taken by the overall look and design of Russ & Lisa’s creations. We know our vans, so knew what good conversions should look like, so beware of cheap imitations out there!

A quick email with what we were looking for and available budget, followed with a response the very next day from Russ saying he had already sourced a van that ticked all the boxes for us – wow, that was quick! All we had to do was transfer the funds to secure it – erm, excuse me?! Transfer funds to some Northern bloke who we hadn’t met? In for a penny, in for a pound we thought, and the rest is history! 5 months later we had the van that we wanted sitting in our driveway, and could not have been happier that we chose Russ & Lisa to turn our ideas/wishes into exactly what we were were after. These guys are the salt of the earth, utterly trustworthy, super patient and really know what they are talking about.

The process from start-to-finish is straightforward, with the most difficult part being settling on the design and colour scheme we wanted – visualising what the finished van could look like, was really helped by the guys letting us disturb their summer holiday and visit them on a campsite to look around their own demo van – a great example of the personal service you will receive from Teahupoo, which some of the bigger companies would do well to learn from!

Despite changing our minds and asking for design elements outside of the norm, Russ & Lisa accomodated our wishes and delivered our van earlier than expected – we couldn’t ask for more than that! We get so many awesome comments about the van, which is testament to the design Teahupoo have perfected over the years – but unlike a lot of flashy T5s you see on the road, the van’s beauty isn’t just on the outside and the quality of craft-manship on the inside really sets the our van aside.

Cheers Russ & Lisa – you are both stars!

Stan & Laura

Russell and Lisa were very responsive from our initial enquiry through to completion of the conversion. They also obtained a very good discount for us on a new van and the quality of the finish is superb. My three little ones always want to go out in “the van” – we all love it. Thanks Russell and Lisa for going the extra mile.

Tim and Amy Green

We picked up our bus three weeks ago and could not be happier. The day I first spoke to Russell on the phone I knew I would not be going anywhere else for our T5. When Russell and Lisa showed us the vans they were working on they spoke with irresistible expertise and enthusiasm.

The whole process was so enjoyable – the excitement of hearing the van had been sourced, picking the colours and the extra bits and the pick up day were all brilliant. Even the wait to get to the front of the queue only really served to remind us that they really know what they are doing – why else would you have such a healthy order book.

On top of all that, to be delivered exactly on the date originally specified was fantastic.

John Parker

We chose Teahupoo for our custom built VW camper van and it’s fabulous!!!!

Having decided on a VW campervan the question was, where to buy one that had a ‘wow’ factor and represented value for money. Like most people, from choice, we knew we would prefer a camper van that had a brand new interior of our choice, but we weren’t so keen on the £46k plus price tag on the new VW campers we liked. Having trawled the internet, Andrew found Teahupoo we never looked back!

The process was simple! Having arranged to go down to their workshop we were able to see other customers completed vans and chat about our budget and what we wanted. Russ sourced a 6 month old VW van at a great price and from a reputable franchised dealer for us, and arranged delivery to his workshop. Before and during the fitting we were able to chat to Russ and Lisa on the phone or down at their workshop, and with the benefit of their experience and guidance, we chose a top quality customised interior and exterior that turned a VW van into our dream camper van!

The process has been a great experience. Russ and Lisa have given us their friendly and expert advice and have been happy to make sure we got exactly what we wanted, no matter how small the detail. The result is we have the camper van of our dreams and have probably saved us around £10K on the price of a new one. The end result result? – We have a fabulous and unique camper van that we love that turns heads and invites compliments everywhere we take it!!!

Andrew and Jackie Dunn, Lancashire

Believe me when I say I have been researching campervans for some considerable time. Designs, makes, models & budgets had all been moveable thresholds. What should it be? A pre owned converted van, or a bespoke conversion at my behest?

Having viewed, bid & examined I decided that the best option was a newly converted van to my spec. I contacted Teahupoo with myr…iad questions. Thankfully Russ & Lisa took the time to reply to my emither mail, even though I hadn’t committed to a purchase.

A visit to their premises was arranged and I gave them my wish list. Everything I wanted was available, discussed & advised on. Why then was my bespoke dream machine £30K and yet some other companies were knocking them out for £60K? I asked Russ what the difference was & he said £30K !! He was exactly right.

Teahupoo deal with VW direct which is your first saving. Nowhere can you procure a VW van for the price that they do.

Being a virgin campervaner my incessant questions continued, Can I? What if? Should I? Whether they landed by text, email or phone Lisa & Russ always replied & gave sound advice based on experience & a wealth of knowledge. I was even advised not to purchase some kit as it was unnecessary for my needs. Saving me more money.

Russ & Lisa are not just corporate people they are a warm, approachable & avuncular couple who I am hoping to bump into on some trips.

I am now living the dream but still phone Russ & Lisa for advice and still their patience & after sales service is top quality.

Kind regards,

Chris & the Top Gun Boyz, (my dogs Maverick & Goose).

Absolutely fabulous conversion. We’re the envy of our friends. As first-time camper-van owners, we were led gently through each stage by Russell and Lisa – sourcing a fabulous van, helping us sort the right spec., answering all our inane questions with understanding and a smile and delivering a beautiful camper more than a month early. If, like we were at the beginning, you’re a complete novice then put your faith in Russell and Lisa. We looked at a few other conversions before we settled on Teahupo’o and nothing came even a close second to them. It is worth the wait!

G Hunt, Peak District.

From the moment we started our adventure and decided to buy a campervan the first thing we did was research, and lots of it! Fortunately, with my job we were able to visit several converters and sellers up and down the country. From the first conversation we had with Russ and Lisa we knew we were onto a winner. Russ and Lisa are not only just great people, they are wonderful to deal with from a customers prospective; they listened to us and advised us to make sure we ended up with our perfect tailor made camper. It is obvious Russ and Lisa also maintain excellent relationships with their suppliers and contacts which ensures only the best materials and products are fitted in their vans.

Once we had paid our deposit we were like a couple possessed trying to find a van… don’t bother looking. We told Russ what we wanted and he sourced the perfect vehicle saving us thousands!! Now I have got to admit this was the scariest part of the deal, but trust Russ he can… and will deliver.
Once the vehicle arrived and it was time to pick our spec Lisa was very patient despite our girls running riot in the workshop. She talked us through all the choices, extras and options and understood exactly what we wanted.
Pick up day arrived and what a surprise… The conversion and finish was better than we could have imagined. As we said, we looked at loads of van’s but the finish, craftmanship and quality was unmatched. We were given a thorough tour of the van with an explanation and clear instructions on how everything worked.

The girls are loving the van as their daily drive. We have managed to squeeze a little picnic in already and can’t wait for our first night away.

Thanks Russ and Lisa for our Ninky Nonk (The Vans Name).

Cheers Dan, Mel, Harriet, Polly and Bud

We stumbled on Teahupoo through a magazine listing and their website. After a couple of initial discussions with Russ and having visited another conversion company, we decided to bite the bullet and put the deposit down with Teahupoo. There were two key areas for us which made the decision, the fact that Russ would source the van for us and the fact the build quality and finish was at a terrific standard. We felt at ease with both Russ and Lisa and had some very useful upfront discussions about how we were going to use the vehicle which helped formulate our decision on many aspects of the build (SWB or LWB, air con, fixed or drive away awning….). Their experience really shone through.

Once the deposit was down, Russ was able to source a van for us within a few weeks that met all our requirements. Trusting someone to make a substantial purchase on your behalf is quite a leap of faith but he did a great job on this especially as we had some key specifics.

Once the build was scheduled we had a good set of discussions with both Russ and Lisa on the colours, options etc. We wanted to go for a crash tested bed and this was the first time that Teahupoo had fitted this particular model to a conversion. Lisa’s input into the colour and upholstery debates was very valuable.

Russ is a perfectionist. Being a new bed there were some initial teething problems and fundamentally he was not happy with the initial finish. Instead of just ‘making do’ and moving on to his next client, Russ ensured that completion was to his usual highest standard. Although there was a slight delay, Russ kept us up to date on a regular basis and ultimately, this was not a problem for us; we’d rather have it right than something substandard. So when we took delivery just before Christmas, we were blown away by it. We can’t wait to put it to its full use in Spring and Summer. In summary, we couldn’t recommend Teahupoo more.

Ben and Rachel, West Yorkshire

Russell and Lisa are a real pleasure to do business with. They are helpful and knowledgeable but never pushy. They gave us lots of their time and the benefit of their experience when making our choices about the interior and extras and we are delighted with the end result.

Our van is a ‘beauty’. It attracts lots of admiring comments and glances and is finished to such a high standard that it looks brand new both inside and out. We have a fabulous van, at a truly outstanding price. No wonder the waiting list for Teahupoo conversions keeps growing.

Ted and Sue, Liverpool.

These vans are the best! They look great, have top spec equipment and never fail to get lots of attention. We wanted a van to use for occasional touring as well as a day vehicle. The van sourced by Russell was top notch, low mileage, and good MPG. We had been looking for a VW van for a looooong time but could never decide what to do. Do we convert ourselves or buy one that’s already done? Teahupoo offers the best option; let Russell source a van of your spec, choose your equipment and then let Russell and Lisa convert it for you at a fraction of the price of a factory converted one. The service from Russell and Lisa is excellent. They are real VW enthusiasts and want you to be happy with the van first and foremost. I would definitely recommend Teahupoo and glad we found them!

Paul and Fiona Southport.

From first deciding to sell my splitscreen van and then trawling through the internet to find a T5, I came across Teahupoo campers. First sending an email and following up with a call to Russell the decision was made. From the deposit and choosing the interior colours Russell and Lisa were helpful and professional throughout and the finish and craftsmanship is superb, also very user friendly. Since buying the van we have covered over 1500 miles and it has not missed a beat. If you are looking for a one-off tailored to your liking then go no further than Teahupoo campers.

Good luck in the future Russell and Lisa and here’s too many a happy holiday.

Lee, Emma, Louie and Niall.

I must start by thanking you and your team for our fantastic van called Arthur.

Since collecting Arthur in late August we have taken him down to St. Ives (Cornwall) for a amazing holiday and came back via Salcombe (Devon) and also visited Brighton/Chichester and the New Forest.

We are all sure these will be the beginning of many happy trips out with him whether they be day, weekend or full-on holidays as all the family members including Bertie (dog) really love spending time in the van.

Everywhere we go with Arthur we get jealous and admiring looks from those privileged enough to meet him. Having visited Devon/Cornwall which must be the home of converted Transporter Vans we never once saw a van looking the same as Arthur which makes us so glad we chose a Teahupoo Van and not a VW California as Arthur definitely has a personality all of his own!!!!

Many, many thanks.

Mark, Sam, Becca, Hannah and Bertie.

Russell and Lisa are a great couple who made us a great campervan and we would have no hesitation recommending them to anyone showing any interest in purchasing a van.

After a month in France we had a few little problems which they sorted out as soon as we got back. We had talked about buying a van for years and as soon as we saw what Teahupoo had to offer we made the decision more or less straight away and glad we did.

We had looked at other vans beforehand but we thought that what Teahupoo offered couldn’t be beaten. We had a great time in France and hope to have many more holidays in our super little van.

Bill and Ann Armstrong, Lancashire.

It’s a bit of a ‘leap of faith’ to entrust your hard-earned cash to someone you don’t really know. However, be assured that Russell and Lisa are well worthy of that trust.

Russell sourced a van for us and then produced a stunning example of his work – as can be seen in the photos of WF12. The quality of finish even surpassed my expectations. Russell takes great pride in his product.

Throughout the process, Russell and Lisa could not have been more helpful – they answered all phone calls and emails promptly – always with an open and friendly manner.

We’re very happy to have joined the Teahupo’o ‘family’ and look forward to following their exploits in the years ahead.

Russell has also embraced social media (Facebook) – which is a great tool for keeping past, present and future clients informed of what’s going on in Teahupo’o ‘world’ – check it out.

Will and Freda, Dunbar, Scotland.

After having done a tour of Australia in a campervan, we always had a hankering for a van of our own but were always put off by size and price. However, after doing some surfing on the net, kept coming across great pictures of vans with the name ‘Teahupoo’ on but they all said ‘sold’!! Curiosity made us pick up the phone and that was our first conversation with Russell.

After having visited Russell and Lisa to check out their vans for real, it was an easy decision to place an order and set Russell on his way to finding us a van. It didn’t take Russell long and then we had the exciting job of picking colours and interiors – Lisa does a fab job of helping and giving advice with what looks right. The time flew and before long we were back in Lancs picking up the van. It was stunning and brought a tear to the eye. It still amazes us that Russell can take these dull vans and transform them into these sparkling pieces of kit!!

Thank you Russell and Lisa for making our beautiful van which we hope to spend many happy times in.

Jo and Steve Buckle, Nottingham

Where do we begin. It started with an off-the-cuff call to Teahupoo. I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. I had made several calls to other convertors, some answered, so didn’t, some didn’t bother to reply or call me back..

Thank goodness I came across Teahupoo. Inteligence about the T5 base van shone through when I spoke to Russell. This is my man who is going to build my campervan. That he did, or I should say, they did. As Lisa was on hand to take any calls about the colour, curtains, fabric, anything. It made such a pleasant change in todays climate, to find somebody who had passion and believed in their job. He is quite obsessive about the cleanliness of the campervan and no detail is to small.

Let Teahupoo build your van, you’ll be more than happy and have the best set of wheels that money can buy. Living the dream now I have met Teahupoo… Thanks you two.

Phelan, Scotland

We have sent you some photos of the camper whilst away on holiday in France. We toured from Bilbao, Spain up through the Pyrenees, stayed four nights in Narbonne, South France. We then travelled to St Martin de Ardeche (had an amazing Gorge, which we canoed up). Next stop was Paris, where we took the children to Disneyland Paris, they loved it, but very busy!

From Paris we drove to St Malo and stayed in a beautiful campsite before travelling to Jersey. We stopped there for two days, one night, where we visited the Zoo and Rozel Bay. We then travelled back to Weymouth. Had an amazing time, camper was ideal, organised and surprisingly very comfortable! She ran like a dream, travelling 1700 miles easily. Thanks again for all your help and really for filling our dream of travelling around Europe. We are already planning our trip for next year!

H and Joanne, Weymouth.

Having spent many years wanting a camper van I literally had an extremely long list of requirements that would constitute my perfect vehicle. It had to look cool, drive well, raising roof, nice interior etc. Whenever I would find a company on the Internet that did conversions to my spec the price was always prohibitive and the same went for good second hand campers on eBay.

After nearly giving up and just replacing my rusty wheels with an estate car my flatmate showed me Teahupoo’s website. ‘What’s the catch’ I thought. The vans look as good if not better than anything out there and ticked every box with the all-in-one conversion. All this for a lot less than the competition.

After an exploratory call to Russell I was impressed enough with his patience at my rambling and his obvious VW knowledge to take the plunge. I am so glad I did. Russell and Lisa are some of the nicest people you could hope to meet and whenever I have had a question they have always been available on the phone or text back straight away. (Even when on their holidays, sorry guys!). They helped me pick the right interior and spec for me and the end result is brilliant.

I have had ‘Hilda’ a month now and we have already driven through France and Spain together and wherever we go she draws admiring looks (hard to get used to having always driven bangers). It drives well, is astonishingly fast for a van and works brilliantly as a camper. The amount of storage is incredible and once you work out a system, camping becomes a breeze.

If you own a Teahupoo van be prepared to constantly field questions from envious wannabe van owners, my current record is a crowd of about 30 surfers in Santander. Every drive now feels like an adventure and I am really enjoying owning my dream car and getting out and about more because of it. Thanks again guys and keep up the good work.

James Ferguson, Inverness

Just wanted to drop you a line to say many, many thanks for the wonderful conversion you have completed on our Diamond Black T5. Right from the first day we met you on a cold cold early January day, you made us feel welcome and guided us through the conversion process, not only advising the things we must have and also the things we probably shouldn’t have on the new van – that advice was much appreciated.

You kept us informed and updated all the way through the 6 weeks conversion, to the great day in early April when we came up to pick her up – WOW – we were delighted then and we still are now. The quality of the internal design and workmanship is excellent throughout – Thank you.

We use the van as our vehicle of choice for most family business and shopping trips etc, not just our frequent camping trips around the beautiful island of Anglesey and North Wales, we always receive compliments everywhere we go with her, she is admired by young and old alike in equal measures.

So Russell and Lisa please accept our thanks and appreciation for all that you did for us and helped with, during the van conversion of “Black Beauty”

Cheers, Gareth on Anglesey

As a surfer and outdoor enthusiast we wanted a camper that gave us the freedom to be away and stop over anywhere and yet comfortable enough to ensure we could be out and about all year round.

The guys at Teahupoo got what we after straight away, worked with us to mould our wacky ideas into a beautiful funky and functional van. Converted in two phases, to help us work out what we wanted, we have been blown away by the quality of the workmanship, attention to detail and the passion Russell and Lisa put into ensuring we had the van of our dreams. Kitted out with a custom built wet area (sealed unit) at the back for wetsuits, rain gear, dirty boots and even kites, along with a hot water shower, warming up after a winter surf is luxury at its best. Once dry inside we have a modern take on the traditional van style with blue and grey interior which looks cool and certainly turns heads.

Along with the 2 leisure batteries, stereo and massive water tank we can enjoy the surf, hills and sunsets anywhere. It’s simply a dream come true and a way of life for us now. Thanks Russell and Lisa for making this happen.

Nathan & Nicola Baranowski

TO ALL THE TEAM AT TEAHUPOO

We are more than delighted with our campervan who is now known as Ada!

From our very first meeting you made us feel comfortable and very confident in making such a large purchase from Teahupoo. Ada is amazing and we are constantly getting compliments and comments about her! We would highly recommend Teahupoo to anyone thinking of buying a campervan.

Russel and Lisa have been professional from start to finish and have done everything we asked and more! Happy camping

After trawling the internet and visiting several VW campervan convertors we stumbled upon Teahupoo. Although Teahupoo wasn’t in our local area (200 miles from home) we decided to visit Russell, for a chat, and weren’t disappointed. From the moment we saw a Teahupoo conversion and had spoken to Russell we knew that we had found what we were looking for. Within hours we had placed an initial order and 3 months later Lisa was picking us up from Accrington train station to visit our new purchase (called Charlie!).

Russell and Lisa made every part of the purchase extremely easy. We trusted Russell’s judgement and had very little input other than what wood we wanted for the cupboards, the fact that we wanted an extra seat in the front and parking sensors. Russell didn’t dissapoint and ‘Charlie’ is now our pride and joy. In fact we seem to spend lots of our time talking to inquisitive strangers that want to talk about the van!

We have already completed 2000 miles with no issues whatsoever and have trips to the Forest of Dean, VanWest, BusFest and the South of France planned for this year.

Many thanks again, Andy and Claire Ross, Hereford.

TO ALL THE TEAM AT TEAHUPOO

Good morning to you Russell and Lisa. We hope this finds you both well and things are good with work and play. We just wanted to email to say we are absolutely loving the van. Been out in it several times a week. Both with the family and on my own (painting) and it is by far the best thing we have ever bought.

Once again, thank you. The weather has been brilliant.. sunny and, believe it or not, warm! Have attached a few wee pics of the van in it’s new home (see gallery pages 12 and 13). And I know, we get dirt on the roads up here too! Take care and all the very best.

After trawling the Internet viewing camper van after camper van, my fiancé and I came across the Teahupoo website. The campers looked better than anything else we had seen so we decided to give them a call.

We spoke to Russell who invited us over to take a look at a few examples. Russell walked us around the various options and started to take note of our requirements. We left the same day having placed a deposit on a LWB, 4 berth, Silver Transporter T5.

We received the completed van within a couple of months and the finish was astounding. Since then we have been up and down the country on several excursions and we are both very pleased. We even braved the Scottish snow for two nights at minus 7 degree’s… inside the van was a toasty 16 degree’s even with the top popped.

Our first experience in buying a camper, and it’s a good one.

Thanks, Phil and family, Rotherham.

Russell and Lisa are a very enthusiastic pair of campervan lovers. Right from our first meeting we were sold on the idea of owning a VW camper. The whole process is very professional and simple to follow.

Plenty of options and plenty of extras to choose from. What you want – is what you get… and to a very high standard too! We took delivery of our campervan at Christmas 2012 and can’t wait for our first outing. Our summer holiday to France is already booked and plenty of weekends away to look forward to.

If you are thinking of purchasing a VW camper, then look no further than Teahupo’o. We recommended them highly and you won’t regret your decision. Many thanks for your hard work.

Steve and Lisa, Southport.

An amazing van and an amazing service. Russell and Lisa answered every call and email promptly and were both incredibly friendly and utterly knowledgeable about what they do.

From those first inquisitive emails through to the pick up in the snow of our finished van, we knew we could trust the team at Teahupoo. We have already had many admiring comments from friends and family about the quality of workmanship, specification and standard of service received and we would not hesitate to recommend Teahupoo to anyone thinking of getting a good quality, properly converted van.

Susan and I spent months looking for a T5 Camper Van, before discovering Russell and Lisa at Teahupoo.

Russell and Lisa helped to make our dream a reality and have provided us with an awesome Van, which looks fantastic both inside and out. We’re looking forward to our first trip away, New Year’s in Aviemore.

If you’re like us and live 8 or 9 hours drive away, dealing with Russell and Lisa by phone and internet could not have been better. If you are thinking of buying in this way, Go For It. Russell and Lisa were both fantastic and most especially trustworthy, they will realise your dream and provide you with a fantastic camper.

Paul and Susan, Elgin, Scotland.

We bought our VW T5 from Teahupoo as a better option than hiring for a long holiday in the UK and Europe. The van had been recently converted by Russell and Lisa, and everything worked brilliantly. Despite a very wet summer, we enjoyed a fantastic time in Cornwall, Scotland, Ireland and France, and the van didn’t let us down once. Indeed on many of the sites we visited, we received lots of inquiring visits from other campers, wanting to check the van out. It was comfortable, well equipped and mechanically very sound, and the conversion was excellent. We would have no problem in recommending their vehicles to other buyers.

Michael, Sydney, NSW, Australia.

We spent a lot of time looking at campervans while we were deciding whether to splash out on one. Many of them seemed a bit old fashioned in style and decor. But, we knew as soon as we saw the vans at Russell and Lisa’s, that we were going to get one that suited our budget and taste, helped by Russell sourcing a great low mileage van for an unbelievable price.

We’re really pleased with our new van, it looks and drives great and the workmanship and finish is excellent. Lisa did a grand job matching the curtains to our carefully chosen colour scheme. Russell and Lisa were there for us when we really needed them. Thanks to both of them we are already having adventures in our lovely van. Thank you .

We had been looking into purchasing a campervan for a while and had done a fair amount of research, visited a few other conversion companies and looked at second hand motorhomes before making contact with Russell and Lisa at Teahupoo. Being reasonably local to Teahupoo we had the advantage of being able to go and see a completed conversion ‘in the flesh’ and not just pictures on the internet and the quality of the product more than lived up to the photos on their website. From the moment the rest of the family saw one of the completed conversions they were as sold as I had been on the idea for some time.

From agreeing to go ahead with the purchase and agreeing the budget to completion took just under 3 months – less than the initial timeframe Russell indicated. We received regular updates on milestones such as the sourcing and purchase of the donor vehicle, time to choose the options and when the van was due for conversion. Russell and Lisa offered their advice and expertise through the decision making process when picking colours and the many options available to truly personalise the campervan to your tastes.

We are really pleased with the outcome and have already been out for a couple of weekends in our campervan despite the lovely weather we have been having this year and it being the end of November as we just couldn’t wait until next year to try it out! We are now planning our destinations for next years adventures…

We would happily recommend Teahupoo to anyone considering a camper conversion.

Delighted, Glossop.

P.S. I see the pictures of our van have made it to your website already!

We approached Teahupoo not knowing much about camper vans, feeling slightly bewildered by all the jargon, but having a vision of what we wanted to achieve and no clue of how to translate it into reality.

Russell and Lisa helped us to make this into a reality and we now have stage one of an awesome camper that blew us away when we arrived to collect it.

Their expertise, patience and helpful guidance is second to none in the camper world. What Russell doesn’t know about campers isn’t worth writing about.

Thanks guys and look forward to stage 2 of our conversion

I picked up my Teahupoo T5 van last June. I was picked up from Accrington station by Lisa and taken to where my van was waiting at the Teahupoo headquarters. I was astounded by the van when I saw it, the pictures on the website do not really do the vans full credit!

After explaining how things work we did a little paperwork and I drove off back to Somerset. The van performed really well, but obviously really came into its own when I spent 4 weeks touring around France. It was a learning experience and I soon got into a routine. It was pretty much a life-changing experience and I plan to take the van away for a 2-3 month tour of Europe next year!

The fittings are really good for the price and the basic package is excellent value for money, I have since bought a memory foam mattress which makes for a bit of extra comfort and luxury. Russ was very helpful in the buying process and was especially accommodating when I was sorting out the finance and paying him a deposit.

If you’re ever down Somerset way and want to see one in the flesh, contact Russ and he will arrange a viewing… that’s if I’m not travelling around Europe.

Ted, Somerset.

Arriving at Teahupoo HQ, I was bowled over by both Russell’s enthusiasm and the amount of attention to detail he gave to the van creation. I had some vague ideas but he soon made them concrete and custom fit for me, suggesting things which only his level of experience could devise to make the van absolutely work for me.

My van, as a result of his flexibility and thinking has a bed built on the petite side just for me so that I can fit my much loved bikes actually inside the van with me, and also has a safe in addition to the standard fittings. Russell was great at taking on board the inevitable changes, and the questions of “Oh, can you do this?” while the work was taking place, and he didn’t only deliver the finished van to time but ahead of schedule.

A small company with a massive heart

Thank you so much for our beautiful motorhome. We love it and it has become part of the family. It’s cleverly put together and compared to the other two T5 campers we have owned, it is by far the best. Not only for looks but for practicality as well. The comfort side of things is second-to-none and has worked wonders for Carl’s back, lol. We looked hard and long for our new van and after looking at the Teahupoo conversion decided to go along and meet Russell and Lisa.

Straight talking and factual advice really prompted us to go ahead, as well as the beautiful vans which had been built for other customers (no sales pitch, they let their vans do the talking). Ten weeks later and we drove our lovely low mileage camper home. We were so, so excited throughout the whole thing and Russell was always there to answer any questions. They also told us if we had gone a little wayward on picking our spec. What a lovely family run business.

Oh, one last thing. We decided to change the colour of our bumpers etc, half way through! They had already been sprayed. A disgruntled Russ on the other end promised me it wasn’t a big thing and proved to us that we could just about have whatever we wanted. The vans he uses are in great condition and although we knew we were buying an ex-work van and expected the odd dint or scratch they really had done it proud…

Thanks ever so much. We will have that drink at the next Busfest.

Carl and Emma, Cornwall.

From the very start of enquiring about T5 conversions, Russell and Lisa were on-hand and gave excellent advice. Our van is even better than we expected and we have been away at every opportunity. It’s comfortable and all space has been put to use with plenty of cupboards. Our daughter loves sleeping in the roof bed.The detailing and spec is top quality and we chose fittings and upholstery, so the van is to our taste. Cannot praise Teahupoo enough and would strongly recommend them to family and friends. Many big adventures to come!

Norma and JC, London.

We took the big step after a year of humming and arrgggghhhing to finally buy a campervan. Helped all the way by Russell and Lisa, we couldnt be happier with the decision. Fantastic quality and brilliant after sales service. We would recommend Teahupoo campers to anyone thinking of buying a camper. Give them a call, they really are worth it and the best we have seen (believe us we looked around!)

Chris and Kate, Bradford.

We were totally new to the whole camping experience and after extensive research we made an appointment to go and view some campers at Teahupoo, it was then we met Russell and the team. We viewed the campers there was no hard sell just clear and honest advice in a relaxed atmosphere.

Once we’d made up our mind to go with Teahupoo we could choose our options and then Russell took care of everything else.

When we picked it up we were over joyed with the quality and couldn’t wait to give her a test. We’ve been away twice, once on our own to test her out and an other time with two teenage boys and a dog in Cornwall. We won the Vans on the camp site!

We would recommend Teahupoo to anyone who’s looking for a quality conversion with excellent customer service. Russell knows his stuff and is just at the end of the phone should there be any problems.

Mike and Julie, Glossop.

We had been looking for a VW T5 for what seems like years, looking on the Internet, visiting different dealers we couldn’t find exactly what we were looking for, before we came across Teahupoo.

After an initial chat on the phone we drove up from Mid-Wales to meet with Russell and Lisa. We were able to look at a few finished vans and once we had seen the superior quality and finish we put down a deposit the same afternoon. We were able to chose our interior colour scheme, upholstery, flooring and even which type of wheels we wanted. We were able to tell Russell what we were looking for from the van ie low mileage, parking sensors colour etc. Very quickly Russell came back to us that he had found a van for us.

When we first set eyes on our van it was amazing, from the fantastic interior to the massive wheels. At the moment, there doesn’t seem to be enough weekends to get away in it. We are very proud of our van and have already had loads of complements about it.

Thank you Russell and Lisa, we will be able to enjoy many, many happy days in our T5

Rhys, Sandra and family, Wales.

We took our new van out for the first time over the weekend to a local campsite as a little test. Despite the weather trying it’s best to drown us and everyone else on the site the van performed brilliantly!

Kept us warm and dry whilst even the hardcore ‘Tent cammpers’ were packing up and heading home. The kids love the pop top. Both beds and the van on whole are a lot more comfortable than the factory fitted California we hired at the start of the year. The TV is a great addition and everything in the van worked as it should. We’re taking her down to France at the end of July and it can’t come quick enough now.

I’ll recommend you to anyone who asks – and push people towards you for hire too. Thanks for the assistance putting this together in the time frame you did. All the staff were always available to answer my many questions via phone, email or text and the three times we came to see you!

Excellent job and at your busiest time of the year.

Richard and Jane, Cheshire.

I’ve wanted a campervan since I was a child and finally I’ve got to a point in my life when I can actually afford one! After a lot of research and viewing I stumbled across Teahupoo on the internet. The quality of the build looked great and having spoken with Russell a few times on the phone I went ahead and ordered one.

Within five weeks I had my camper, the first time I saw her was when I travelled up from Bournemouth to collect her (we’ve named her Lily… my daughter’s favourite name) and I wasn’t disappointed…she is stunning both inside and out. The build quality is excellent and she drives beautifully.

I did have a few little teething problems to start with which Teahupoo sorted out efficiently… big thanks to Russell and Lisa who were always keen to help. I would recommend Teahupoo to my friends and to anyone who’s looking for a van that will turn heads and make you proud to be driving it.
Have a great day

Tracey, Southampton.

Having bought a brand new transporter T5 to convert into a campervan I wanted to ensure that only a true professional conversion company touched it. I searched all over Ireland to find a company that could give me the highest quality interior with an outstanding exterior that turned heads in the quickest possible time. I could not find anyone in the ROI that could offer that service.

Luckily I found Teahupoo VW campers Ltd on the Internet based in Manchester. Most of the planning was done over the Internet and telephone and Russell was on hand 24/7 to answer any questions I had.

The journey to the UK to bring the van was so easy – and I was delivered to the airport in comfort and at no extra cost. The van was ready on time without fault. It was everything they promised it would be…. And more. I have recommended Teahupoo to all my friends in Ireland and would like to thank them for my stunning campervan.

Matthew, Dublin.

We’ve been looking for a VW camper for over a year. We had viewed so many campers, including dealers who carried out their own conversions, some were terrible some were good, but something just was not right for us. We wanted something special, mechanically sound, good body work, and good clean tasteful interior, we finally found it at “Teahupoo”…

We were traveling back up north following another disappointing viewing where we’d intended to buy a T4, when we called Russell and asked if we could view their stock. Our day was instantly transformed from disaster to result. All the conversions looked amazing, and following demos, and a test drive, we decided to put a deposit down.

This has been one of the biggest things we have bought apart from our house which has now become redundant due to spending every spare minute in the camper travelling and we couldn’t honestly be any happier than we are, big smiles all round… The camper really is stunning inside and out, beautifully finished, with gorgeous fabrics… We are so proud of our van! We would just like to say a massive thank you to Russell and Lisa… You have all been amazing… and we are so pleased we found you all…

Thank you.

Richard and Karen, Sunderland.

We’ve just got back from an excellent week’s holiday which has been our first week away in our new “Stampervan” and we’d just like to say that we love it!

It may not be finished in a traditional campervan format, but we’ve found it works just as well as a daily family run around as it does as a day van for a cycling trip away or as a four berth campervan on a touring trip.

The quality of the build is excellent. We love the “Teahupoo Look” of the van (as did all the admirers we got down in Cornwall), the floor fixings for our camp box couldn’t have worked our better & the kids love their pop-top bed and the TV/DVD player. The van’s great to drive long distance which will be great when we go touring France in the summer, it’s comfortable to sleep in and quick to turn around on the campsite for short overnighters.

Your service has been exemplary, from our first phone call and subsequent dialogue, to your interpretation of our requirements and feedback on progress during the build to the final product. I’d also like to mention the small things like Lillie picking me up from the train station on the day of the van collection to her phone call on the following day to make sure we’d arrived safely home and to enquire on what the rest of our family thought of our new purchase. A nice touch!

We’re very happy to have done business with you and won’t hesitate to recommend you to our friends and acquaintances.

Best of luck for the future and thanks again for our van!

Over the moon, Newcastle.

Travelled home from Manchester to Birmingham with a big smile on my face in our new VW Transporter T5 Campervan from Teahupoo.

One of our lads summed it up when he said ‘it’s even better than I expected……’

The whole interior from the dashboard back is new and finished to an extremely high standard – obviously a quality conversion – the TV is a nice touch.

I had done an extensive amount of research before deciding to buy from Teahupoo and it is fair to say that prices vary quite widely but cheaper vans tended to be missing some of my essential requirements – which to add would have pushed the price higher – and many dearer vans had nothing more to offer. This is the complete package with all the stuff we wanted and needed at a very competitive price.

We might be grandparents but I am still a ‘boy racer’ at heart so the exterior ‘goodies’ – 20″ alloy wheels, chrome side bars and colour coding, really hit the spot!!

Although the van itself is not new – could quite easily spend £15000 more for a from the factory vehicle – it shows no signs of it’s previous life as a commercial vehicle, so with it’s spotless appearance and low mileage, it complements perfectly the high quality makeover it has received.

The friendly and knowledgeable service we received from staff at Teahupoo gave us confidence to commit to a not insignificant investment.

I liked the lack of ‘hard sell’ – they did not try to push us into a decision – just presented the vehicle as it was and gave us time to consider – frankly it sold itself!

We now look forward to many happy days of travelling and to anyone similarly minded I would strongly recommend you get in touch with Russell at Teahupoo and see what they have to offer!

Peter, Birmingham.

Teahupoo’s design, quality of fit out, and value was far better than the others I had seen. They also sourced a van to our specifiction and Russell gave my wife and I great customer service and made the whole experience quick and simple. Would definately recommend Teahupoo to anyone thinking of going for a VW camper.
